Boaz hired as Patrick Henry Community College women’s soccer head coach

MARTINSVILLE, VA – Grant Boaz has been named the head coach of Patrick Henry Community College women’s soccer.

No stranger to the area or to PHCC athletics, Boaz graduated from Martinsville High School before joining the PHCC men’s soccer team in the Fall of 2013.

“It is an honor to be named the next head coach of the PHCC women’s soccer team,” He said. “My experiences coaching at different levels, recruiting, building relationships, and developing players will serve me well in this new role.”

Boaz received his associate in business administration from the community college in 2015 and his bachelor's in sports management from North Carolina State University in 2018.

“As a PHCC alumnus and former student-athlete, Grant is an excellent fit to lead our women’s soccer program,” Athletic Director Brian Henderson said. “He's already stepping up and showing excitement and passion for the recruiting and developing the Lady Pat's program. He has earned this opportunity to help build the next chapter of women’s soccer here at PHCC.”

Over the last few years, Boaz has held several coaching positions including assistant coach for Ferrum, head coach at Carlisle, and assistant coach for the college’s men’s soccer team.

He also has worked with the PYSL youth soccer league and spent time assisting the Martinsville High School soccer team.
