BASSETT, VA – The Henry County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman involved in a stabbing Wednesday afternoon in Bassett.
At around 1:18 p.m., deputies were dispatched for a report of a man who had been stabbed at Brookshire Apartments located on Brookshire Lane.
Investigators said there was a domestic altercation between 48-year-old Ronald Lee Young, Jr. and 27-year-old Kayla Gail Walker, who live together at 115 Brookshire Lane, Apartment 7.
According to Young, she stabbed him in the left side of the torso during the altercation.
Medics transported Young to a landing zone set up near the Bassett Volunteer Fire Department to be airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Walker was arrested at the scene and has been charged with felony malicious wounding.
She is being held in the Henry County Jail without bond.
