BASSETT, VA – The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man wanted in connection to a malicious wounding incident.
It happened Thursday at around 11:40 p.m. at Brookshire Apartments, located on Brookshire Lane in Bassett.
Deputies say when they got there, the victim, 36-year-old Leslie Renea Brown, was laying in the walkway of the apartment complex unconscious.
She was airlifted to the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Authorities say an altercation occurred between Brown and 39-year-old Charncey Lamont Thomas.
Thomas, of Bassett, is currently wanted by the sheriff's office and was charged with one felony count of malicious wounding.
This incident remains under investigation.
