EDEN, NC – Sunday at approximately 8:36 PM, the Eden Police Department responded to the Eden Inn motel in Eden, North Carolina in reference to shots fired into a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered one male victim dead from an apparent gunshot wound. Police also found a female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Investigators with the Eden Police Department identified the male victim as 34-year-old Brandon James Rose, of Reidsville, NC. The female victim was identified as 38-year-old Meghann Rose McKinney, of Reidsville, NC. McKinney’s condition is unknown at this time.
37-year-old Tim Caesar Blanks of Bassett was identified as the suspect in the shooting.
Blanks was taken into custody without incident shortly before midnight on Sunday by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. Blanks has been charged with one count of First Degree Murder in the death of Rose. He was also charged with one count of the Attempted Murder of McKinney. Blanks is being held at the Henry County jail awaiting extradition back to North Carolina.
"The Eden Police Department would like to express appreciation to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with the apprehension of Blanks and to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office with security and assisting the department with answering calls during the investigation," Eden Police said in the release.
