HENRY COUNTY, VA – Sheriff Wayne Davis held a joint news conference with the Martinsville Police Department, the Patrick County Sheriff's Office, and the Henry County Commomwealth's Attorney.
Sheriff Davis shared details on Tuesday morning's multi-jurisdiction drug operation.
Numerous search warrants were executed in Martinsville and Henry County and 6 people have been arrested.
Along those arrested was Southern Discount Furniture owner Anthony Joseph Albanese.
Martinsville Police executed a search warrant at the business located on Liberty Street.
This was not the first time Albanese's business has been searched for drugs.
In July 2021, police found a crystal substance during a drug bust, according to a search warrant obtained by BTW21 News.
Albanese was arrested and charged by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office during another drug bust in June 2021.
“These people that we’ve arrested today are responsible for the death and destruction of our community members. These poison peddlers, they’ve sold drugs that have destroyed our family and our friends. They have profited from those who suffer from addiction and that stops today,” said Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis.
Prescription pills, meth, fentanyl, psilocybin mushrooms, cash, five illegally possessed guns, 7 vehicles, and multiple real estate properties were seized, according to Davis.
The following were arrested and charged:
