FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – A 54-year-old man died after a single-vehicle accident in Franklin County on Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at 3:05 p.m. on Route 623, in the vicinity of Route 605.
According to Virginia State Police, a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee was headed north on Route 623 when it ran off the right side of the road, running over a retaining wall and overturned.
The driver of the Jeep was identified as Cary Daniel Woody of Ferrum.
State police said Woody was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
