FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – A Wirtz woman was killed in a crash on Wednesday morning in Franklin County.
The crash happened around 10:43 a.m. on Jubal Early Highway, just south of Silver Lake Road.
A 2016 Honda Civic was going north on Jubal Early Highway, when the car ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, according to Virginia State Police.
Police said Erin Sheree Jones, 45, was driving the Honda and was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
She was injured and transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where she later died.
This crash remains under investigation.
