On September 11, 2025, a joint law enforcement effort led to the arrest of 25-year-old Ni’Majae Syncere Logan, a suspect wanted for an armed robbery and carjacking in Danville, Virginia.
The incident, which involved the assault and theft of a vehicle from an elderly woman, sparked a multi-jurisdictional manhunt across the region.
The crime was reported earlier in the day, with Danville authorities notifying surrounding jurisdictions, including the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, about the carjacking and the description of the stolen vehicle.
The victim, an elderly woman, was reportedly pepper-sprayed, robbed of her personal belongings, and had her vehicle stolen at gunpoint.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office quickly sprang into action after receiving an alert.
While on routine patrol, Deputy J. Dickerson spotted a vehicle matching the description of the stolen car on NC Highway 14, heading south toward Reidsville.
The deputy followed the vehicle until it stopped at the Murphy's gas station near the Walmart on NC Hwy 14.
As the suspect exited the vehicle, he immediately fled on foot, prompting a swift response from local and state law enforcement agencies.
A perimeter was quickly set up around the area, and shoppers in the vicinity were urged to remain indoors as authorities searched for the suspect.
The suspect was soon identified as Ni’Majae Syncere Logan, who had an extensive criminal history.
Authorities learned that Logan had outstanding warrants from Wake County, NC, for similar crimes, as well as warrants related to the carjacking incident in Danville, VA. Additionally, Logan had non-extraditable warrants out of the State of Georgia.
To aid in the search, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol's air unit was called in, while the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT) was deployed into the nearby woods.
After a thorough search, the SRT successfully located and apprehended Logan.
Logan was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of a Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor Resist, Delay, and Obstruct, and Fugitive Warrants for crimes committed in Danville, VA.
He was taken before a Magistrate, who set his bond at $400,000 for the charges in Rockingham County. Logan is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on September 22, 2025.
In addition to the charges in Rockingham County, Logan was served with warrants for Felony Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Felony First Degree Burglary, and Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretenses, stemming from crimes in Wake County.
He was given no bond on those charges and is scheduled to appear in Wake County Court on October 9, 2025.
The Danville Police Department also secured additional warrants for Logan for Carjacking, Grand Larceny, Credit Card Theft, and Illegal Use of Tear Gas in connection with the earlier robbery and theft.
It was also revealed that Logan was out on bond for a previous robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault on a female charge in Eden, NC, from August 2025.
Authorities continue to investigate the full extent of Logan's criminal activities, with further charges expected as additional evidence is processed.
As of now, Logan remains in custody, facing a series of serious charges in multiple jurisdictions.
