23-year-old man charged with shooting death of Ridgeway woman

EDEN, NC – On Sunday at approximately 9:03 PM, officers with the Eden Police Department responded to Klyce Street Manor apartments in reference to an individual suffering from a gunshot wound.


Upon arrival officers discovered a female victim deceased from an apparent gunshot wound and immediately detained 23 year-old J’mes Eric Troxler of Reidsville, NC.


Detectives with the Eden Police Department identified the female victim as 25-year-old Shaquille Antionette Madison of Ridgeway.


After a thorough investigation and consultation with the District Attorney’s Office, J’mes Troxler was arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of Madison.


Troxler was also charged with shooting at another individual who was not injured.


There were no other reported injuries and the Eden Police department is not looking for any other suspects.


Troxler has been charged with one (1) count of First Degree Murder in the death of Shaquille Madison. He was also charged with one (1) count of the Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill.


Troxler was transported to the Rockingham County Jail where is being held without bond and will have a first appearance on June 12, 2019 in Rockingham County District Court.
