2022 Startup Martinsville-Henry County applications now open

MARTINSVILLE, VA – The Chamber's Partnership for Economic Growth has launched its application process for the 2022 Startup Martinsville-Henry County program.

Startup Martinsville-Henry County is a mentoring program with an eight-week entrepreneurial boot-camp program for startups and four-week boot-camp for growing companies.

Officials say the application process is competitive and requires that applicants agree to the program guidelines.

January 4, 2022, is the application deadline.

The initiative originally began in 2015 as Startup Martinsville in Uptown Martinsville with a Community Business Launch grant from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.

The geographic area has grown to include all of the City of Martinsville and Henry County thanks to support from both locales and private sector funding.

To date, the initiative has successfully graduated 231 individuals from its training program, awarded 35 businesses with over $204,750 in cash and in-kind funding, according to officials.

These businesses have created over $1,450,000 in new capital investment and created 125 new jobs, officials say.

C-PEG partners with Patrick & Henry Community College to deliver the entrepreneurial boot camp sessions as well as Longwood’s Small Business Development Center, SCORE and the Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation and staff from the city and county, local entrepreneurs and business experts.

The application is available here.
