MADISON, NC – A 33-year-old man was arrested after stealing and crashing a pickup truck on Sunday.

At around 6:12 PM, deputies responded to Pinecrest Road in Madison, NC where they were advised that a 2006 Lincoln pickup truck had been stolen.

The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office says that at around 11:42 PM, they located the stolen truck traveling on U.S. 220 and then pulling into the parking lot of Eagle Express.

He was not injured when he struck the pole, according to the sheriff's office.

Ellis was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under no bond due to an outstanding fugitive warrant out of Virginia.
