PATRICK COUNTY, VA – Two people have been arrested following the theft of a Kubota tractor and bush hog in Patrick Springs.

Tanya Leahann Branch, 42, of 911 Flamingo Road, was arrested on Saturday and John Albert Nester, 51, of 20 VFW Road was arrested on Monday for the theft.

Both were charged with grand larceny, obtaining money/merchandise under false pretense, and larceny with intent to sell.

According to Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith, the tractor had been stolen about a week earlier from Taylor View Road.

“Our evidence shows that Nester, after stealing the tractor, negotiated a deal to trade the tractor for money and merchandise, while Branch participated by providing transportation throughout the duration of the offense,” Sheriff Smith stated in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

Nester is being held without bond and Branch is being held on a $5,000 secured bond.
