Second arrest made in connection to 2016 homicide, arson

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC – The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina has made a second arrest in connection to a 2016 homicide.


Timothy Lyne Bailey, 34, of Reidsville has been charged with second degree arson and concealment of death of Jerry Lacy Pilliam.


Pulliam was located deceased inside a burnt residence on Brooks Road in Reidsville on December 24, 2016 around 7:15 AM.


Investigators say Pulliam was deceased prior to the arson of the residence from means unrelated to the fire.


Bailey was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Center under a $40,000 secured bond with a June 5 court date.


William L. Bartlett, 53, was also charged and pleaded guilty in Rockingham County Superior Court on May 16 to Second-Degree Murder in the homicide of Pulliam.
