Rocky Mount man charged with multiple break-ins


ROCKY MOUNT – Tommy Roop has been charged with Burglary and Grand Larceny. Roop is being charged in reference to A&A Market, Callaway, VA and Auto Discount Center, Callaway, VA. On August 23, 2018, deputies and investigators began an investigation in to the burglary of two businesses in the Callaway community of Franklin County. Items stolen from the two businesses include a gun, ammunition, cigarettes, hand tools and electronic equipment. Investigators were soon able to develop Tommy Roop as a suspect. Roop was indicted on two felony counts of burglary and two felony counts of grand larceny at the September  3rd grand jury in Franklin County Circuit Court. Roop is currently being held in the Roanoke City Jail without bond on charges from Franklin County and Roanoke.
