ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC – Sunday, six volunteers from the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office are on their way to Lenoir County, North Carolina to aid in Hurricane Florence relief efforts and help maintain law and order in that area.

Lenoir County Sheriff Ronnie T. Ingram put out the request for assistance through the North Carolina Sheriffs Association.

"I'm really proud of my Deputies for volunteering to go to Lenoir County and help them in their hour of need. The men and women of the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office have a history of stepping up when others are in crisis", said Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page. "I would also like to thank the Rockingham County Board of Commissioners for their support of sending Sheriff's Office personnel and equipment to Lenoir County to help the local law enforcement and citizens there in the wake of Hurricane Florence."
