MARTINSVILLE, VA – A portion of Commonwealth Boulevard in Martinsville will closed for 6 months.
The repair work is expected to begin on the bridge over the Dick & Willie Trail, between Lester Street and Northside Drive next week.
The project is expected to take up to 6 months to complete.
During that time, one lane of the road will be closed to traffic in each direction.
Schwartz & Associates, Inc. from Lynchburg is handling project design.
The $1.17 million construction project has been awarded to Burleigh Construction Company, Inc. from Concord.
Drivers are advised to slow down while traveling through the area and to pay attention to the traffic control signage that will be in place.
