MARTINSVILLE – Tuesday morning, officers from the Martinsville Police Department and sheriff’s office, Henry County Sheriff’s Office and members of the community ran with the torch for the Virginia Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run. Virginia Special Olympics provides sports training and athletic competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Locally, the Torch Run raised around $5,000. Last year, the run raised more than $1.3 million in Virginia.
