PHCC to host golf tournament at Primland to raise funds

MARTINSVILLE – The Patrick Henry Community College Athletics’ fall golf tournament will be at the Primland Golf Course on November 5. According to college officials, the fall golf tournament is a staple and a major fundraiser for PHCC Athletics.

"The funds raised through this tournament are essential to providing a great experience for our Patriots," says Brian Henderson, PHCC’s Athletic Director. "Our partners and participants in this tournament enable us to reach over a hundred young women and men – helping these students play the sport they love and, more importantly, gain a quality education."

This year, PHCC’s athletic department has over 155 student-athletes and 11 different sports. PHCC athletes regularly receive national recognition in their sports. Also, every year students are signed with scholarships to four-year universities.

“Our goal is to help as many as possible, as much as possible, for as long as possible,” says Henderson. “Ultimately, the more student-athletes we serve, the more future leaders we are helping to grow. We sincerely thank the Parks and all of our sponsors this year for joining us on this mission.”

A few slots are still available for the Primland Golf Tournament. To join and support the Patriots, contact Brian Henderson at bhenderson@patrickhenry.edu.  PHCC Athletics will host its annual spring tournament at Chatmoss Country Club. The date has not been announced.
