Martinsville sheriff's office, police department welcome new deputies, officers

On January 8, three Martinsville Sheriff's Office deputies and two Martinsville Police Department officers graduated from the Piedmont Regional Criminal Justice Training Academy.

Congratulations to these men:

• Deputy Bryson Nester (received the gold award in the firearms category and the gold award in the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) category)

• Deputy Brian Hall (received the overall academic award and the silver award in EVOC)

• Deputy Nathan Register (received the silver award for EVOC)
