FRANKLIN COUNTY – On May 30, deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a possible break-in in the 2000 block of Lakewood Forest Road.
The call was made by a neighbor who keeps an eye on the house and noticed a garage door open.
Upon further inspection, the neighbor found a door busted out on the back of the residence.
Items stolen included: Cadillac Deville, Chevy Silverado, a four-wheeler, Collectible tea pots, rare grandfather clocks, power tools, generators, rare coins, jewelry, firearms, chain saws, and leaf blowers as well as numerous other items.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office soon developed a relative, Kenneth Caron, 34, of Bedford as a suspect.
The initial investigation led deputies to the Walmart in Clearbrook on May 31, where they recovered the Cadillac Deville.
Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office were then able to locate the Chevy Silverado and four-wheeler at a residence in Botetourt County.
The Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office assisted, and a search warrant was written for the residence which was located on Bishop Lane in Botetourt County.
Caron initially barricaded himself inside the residence however, investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office were able to convince him to surrender without incident.
Caron was charged and arrested by the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office for crimes there.
They will be conducting their own investigation and obtaining additional charges.
Numerous stolen items were recovered from the residence.
A total of 60 items totaling over $32,000.00 were recovered and returned to the owners.
Caron was indicted on Grand Larceny of a Vehicle (x2), Breaking and Entering with intent to commit felony and Grand Larceny of personal property on June 3 by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
