COLLINSVILLE – Ladies and gentlemen the wait is over! Cook Out on Virginia Avenue opened Tuesday at 8 PM. They will be open tonight until 10:30 PM!
JULY 25 UPDATE
Construction of the Cook Out on Virginia Avenue is near completion and that means they can start hiring.
There are two ways you can apply for a position at the long-awaited restaurant.
The first is by calling the Danville Cook Out at 434-791-2626.
The second is by texting 276-806-7332.
Both methods will allow you to set up an interview to work at the Collinsville location.
JUNE 19 UPDATE
The steel frame has been completed and the wood work has started.
MAY 29 UPDATE
The beam erection was started Tuesday and is quickly coming up.
MAY 16 UPDATE
The construction of the building pad of the soon to be Cook Out is underway.
A construction company employee tells BTW21 they are bringing in dirt from behind Hardee's on Virginia Avenue to construct the one-foot-tall pad.
APRIL 23 UPDATE
The building demolished in one day by D. H. Griffin Wrecking Company, Inc.
Removal of the debris from the old building has begun.
APRIL 18 UPDATE
D. H. Griffin Wrecking Company, Inc. of Greensboro, NC arrives at 2439 Virginia Avenue. Demolition of the former Sonic building will begin soon.
MARCH 7 UPDATE
After BTW21 reported last summer that Cook Out purchased the former Sonic property and there has not been any work done, this question has come up: Is Cook Out coming to Collinsville?
To be straightforward, yes. It has just taken them time to move forward with the paperwork.

Jeremy A Reaves doing business as Cook Out buys former Sonic Drive-In property at 2439 Virginia Avenue in Collinsville. The 1,392 square feet building was purchased from SRI Real Estate Properties, LLC. for $419,000.
