FIELDALE, VA – A fire destroyed a Fieldale home early Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called to a home in the 1200 block of Mariah Drive that was overtaken by the blaze.

“No one was living in the house,” Henry County Fire Marshal Lisa Garrett told BTW21 News. “It was a rental property, but no one was leasing it at the time of the fire.”

It took crews from multiple fire departments several hours to exhausting the fire.

“Thankfully, no one was injured,” Fieldale Volunteer Fire Company Deputy Chief Keith Sink wrote in a Facebook post. “Remember, it’s that time of year when we are firing up the wood stove and cranking the heat pump up. Please make sure that everything is working properly and safely.”
