Crash in Bassett ends with man being airlifted to hospital

BASSETT – A man was airlifted to the hospital after an accident on Riverside Drive Thursday.

The crash occurred around 2 PM near the First Baptist Church of Bassett.

According to Virginia State Police, a Ford Ranger crossed the centerline and hit an Isuzu box truck.

An individual was reported to be trapped in the Ford. First responders removed the roof from the pickup truck.

State Police told BTW21, the driver of the Ford Ranger was airlifted to the hospital.

The passenger of the Ford was transported to the hospital. The driver of the Isuzu truck was also hospitalized.

The crash remains under investigation.

Anyone know who they the folks are, has there been a follow up on the wreck , or the people taken to the hospital?
