MARTINSVILLE – Are you looking for great barbecue? Look no further, Checkered Pig BBQ has some of the best in the nation. Recently, they won second place in the Best in the West BBQ Competition.
"We just basically ramped up our flavor on our ribs a little bit more, we put a little bit more smoke on them, a little bit more spice on them," said Tommy Houston, the owner of Checkered Pig.
Houston responds with a disaster team called Operation BBQ Relief and is sending his equipment to Charlotte, North Carolina to assist with cooking 20,000 meals a day.
