MARTINSVILLE – A man was arrested and charged after a foot chase in Martinsville Monday.
Martinsville Police say they were in the process of seizing a vehicle in relation to a drug investigation on Patrick Henry Avenue around 3 PM.
When Police approached the vehicle, they observed an individual inside.
The individual fled on foot in the direction of a wooded area of J. Frank Wilson Memorial Park.
29-year-old Devonte Lamar Keen was arrested and charged with:
possession of cocaine
possession of marijuana
possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
possession of a controlled substance on school property
possession of a firearm on school property
resisting arrest
Police say they also recovered a handgun.
Keen is being held in the Martinsville City Jail without bond.
