[Wentworth, N.C.] -Earlier today, at around 9:30 a.m., a student at the Rockingham Early College High School program made a verbal threat towards the school to a Rockingham County Sheriff's Deputy who was present on campus. At no time did the student threaten any specific students directly.
The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office and Rockingham County Schools takes any potential threat to the safety of our students and staff extremely serious. The student who made the threat,NIASIA ALENNA LOWE, 18, of 236 Bedford Dr. Eden, N.C., was arrested by Deputy R. Burns and charged with Communicating Threats. She was released by Magistrate S. Martin under a $1,000 unsecured bond. LOWEwas not processed into the jail and therefore, no mugshot is available.
