Traffic stops in Franklin County net 23 arrest, 16 drug charges

FRANKLIN COUNTY – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office conducted 45 traffic stops on Friday which resulted in:

• 16 summonses

• 16 drug charges

• 15 misdemeanor arrests

• 8 felony arrests

• 25 vehicle searches

Arrest charges included:

• possess marijuana, paraphernalia, meth, hydrocodone or schedule IV or schedule III drug

• possess firearm with controlled substance

• bring controlled substance in jail facility

• reckless driving

• DUI

• drive suspended

The areas where a saturation patrol was set up were:

• Virgil Goode Highway,

• Doe Run

• Sontag

• Ferrum

• Henry

• Boones Mill

• Snow Creek

• Redwood

• Westlake

• Burnt Chimney

• Sydnorsville

• Wirtz

• Hardy

Race and genders:

African Americans: 17 males, 7 females

Caucasians: 50 males, 26 females

Hispanics: 4 males, 0 females

This list includes all occupants of a vehicle stopped.
