COLLINSVILLE, VA – Rosie’s Game Room opened Thursday morning and the line was out the door.
Colonial Downs Group expanded its off-track-betting operation located at 2360 Virginia Avenue in Collinsville.
The casino-like destination offers a hybrid of the newest gaming technology available along with the same “slots-like” historical horse racing gaming machines from Rosie’s Gaming Emporiums.
“This model is more of boutique-style of gaming facility at 37 machines where some of the other properties are 150 to 700 machines. It does offer all the same features and games,” Rosie’s Game Room Regional General Manager Ernie Dellaverson said.
Dellaverson says Rosie's opening is good for the local economy.
“Before when we're running the Windmill, we had about five employees here. Now we're up to almost 30 employees and that comes with traditional benefits and vacation time. Some great jobs,” Dellaverson explained.
The facility is open Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m.
