Rockingham County, N.C. – This evening at around 7:02 p.m., Rockingham County Sheriff's Deputies and the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to 1450 Price Rd. Eden, N.C. where they located Swanson Elroy Dalton, 68, inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Mr. Dalton was transported to a local area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Mr. Dalton was located by a friend who contacted emergency dispatchers after finding him in the home. Rockingham County Sheriff's Detectives are currently on scene investigating. This investigation is still in its early stages.
