Multiple agencies conduct boat training at Smith Mountain Lake

FRANKLIN COUNTY – Multiple agencies from across the region came together Monday at Smith Mountain Lake for training.

The Franklin County and Bedford County sheriff's offices along with Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and Smith Mountain Lake Marine Volunteer Fire and Rescue conducted a joint boat training.

With the busy upcoming boating season, each agency trained on new boating laws and teamwork.

"Another great event involving many agencies working side by side. Thanks to all of our law enforcement and first responders involved," the Franklin County Sheriff's Office said.
