ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC – Friday, Rockingham County Sheriff's Investigators charged and arrested a 27-year-old man for felony second degree rape. Jonathan Tolen-Echeverria of Reidsville, North Carolina was also charged with assault on a female. Information about the victim(s) will not be released by the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office due to safety concerns.
Tolen-Echeverria was placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility under a $101,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 2. He also received an additional $10,000 secured bond on an outstanding charge from Guilford County.
