HENRY COUNTY – Law enforcement is began a two week nationwide campaign on this past Monday to crack down on seat belt violations. The goal is to educate the public and enforce the law requiring everyone in vehicles to wear seat belts. The "Click It or Ticket" campaign will run through Memorial Day weekend and end on June 4.
Virginia’s statewide seat belt use rate was 80.9 percent in 2015, 77.3 percent in 2014, 79.7 percent in 2013 and 78.4 percent in 2012. The 310 unrestrained fatalities in Virginia in 2015 represent 41 percent of the 753 total traffic fatalities.
