MARTINSVILLE – A kitten is up for adoption after a police officer rescued it from a vehicle engine.
Thursday, Officer Easter responded to Hardee's on Memorial Boulevard after a driver heard their engine purring in an unusual way.
The Martinsville Police Department says after removing a few car parts, Easter rescued the kitten.
"No one is sure where the kitten originally came from. We are happy to say that after its wild ride the cat was not injured in any manner and is now available for adoption at the SPCA of Martinsville and Henry County," the department said on Facebook.
If you would like to give the kitten a forever home, call the SPCA at 276-638-7297.
