High School graduations impact weekend traffic patterns


HENRY COUNTY – Motorists traveling to Magna Vista High School in Henry County for graduation activities on Friday, May 25, 2018 will need to be aware of changes in traffic patterns.

Drivers must use Route 687 (Soapstone Road) to travel to the school. Route 688 (Lee Ford Camp Road) will be closed from 4:30pm – 7:00pm. All traffic must use Soapstone Road from Route 220, Route 58 or Route 641 (Joseph Martin Highway).

All traffic on Route 1060 (Magna Vista School Road – Entry from Soapstone Road.) will be one way using both lanes to the parking areas. Traffic will be controlled by Henry County Sheriff’s office and message boards will also be in place to provide directional information.

All motorists should use caution and those attending the graduation please plan to arrive early.


Motorists traveling to Bassett High School in Henry County for graduation activities on Saturday, May 26, 2018, should watch for heavy traffic on Route 57 (Riverside Drive), Route 903 (TB Stanley Highway), Route 683 (The Great Road) and Route 220.

Expect heavy traffic to continue from 7:00am to 11:00am.

Traffic will enter the school using two lanes separated by traffic cones. Please do not switch lanes. The traffic cones are in place for your safety and prompt parking of vehicles.

Officers and attendants will be on hand to assist you with parking, so please follow all directives of the attendants and officers.

All motorists should use caution and those attending the graduation please plan to arrive early.
