ROCKY MOUNT – Wednesday, May 30th, The Office of the Sheriff graduated three deputies from the Cardinal Academy in Salem, VA. Each officer endured many weeks of training and are now ready to protect and serve. Their training and instruction included legal concepts, practical scenarios, physical and defensive trainings, weekly testing, traffic stops, investigative techniques and complete hundreds of mandatory standards set forth by the State of Virginia.

Sheriff Overton commented, " I am so proud of each one of these officers for their outstanding accomplishments in completing their basic training. The residents of Franklin County will be professional served by these deputies. As proud as their families surely are of them today, I am equally honored to be their Sheriff. We will watch them become role models for our department and the community we live in."
