Fourth of July safety tips



MARTINSVILLE, VA – As many are getting prepared for one of the biggest and fun-filled holidays in the summer months, there are a few tips and tricks to keep in mind, as you and your families will be celebrated this weekend.

According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commissions, an estimated 57% of people suffer injuries from burns from the use of fireworks. At least 30% of firework related accidents occur around the hands and figures.

Ways you can stay safe while handling legal firework is by never allow young children to handle or ignited them, always have adult supervision when children are at or around firework celebrations/activities, avoid packages in brown paper products, as these are typical used by the professionals, keep a safe distance from others when igniting them off, and have a bucket of water and/or a garden hose around if a fire starts from the fireworks.
