MARTINSVILLE – Kroger Mid-Atlantic will hold a customer appreciation event in Martinsville Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.
The event, which will take place at the 240 Commonwealth Boulevard store, is a way to say thank you to the customers who helped name Kroger as the Best Grocery Store in the 2019 Readers' Choice Awards.
As part of the celebration, the first 200 customers to enter the store after 10 AM will receive a complimentary Zero Hunger, Zero Waste backpack.
"Martinsville is a tight-knit community and we're honored to be a part of it," said Brandi Richmond, store manager of the Martinsville Kroger. "We have an exciting day planned and we can't wait to thank our customers for continuing to choose Kroger as their grocer of choice."
Each backpack will be filled with various food items, coupons and a $5 gift card.
Three customers will be surprised with larger gift cards, as two backpacks will contain a $100 gift card and one lucky customer will receive a backpack containing a $250 gift card. The Kroger fuel center will also participate in the customer appreciation event by offering a 20 cent per gallon discount on all fuel purchases made Saturday.
"This is just a small way for us to thank our Martinsville customers for their continued support," said Allison McGee, corporate affairs manager for Kroger Mid-Atlantic. "We hear time and time again from store leadership that our Martinsville customers are some of the most loyal in the Mid-Atlantic and we couldn't have been named the best grocery store in Martinsville without them."
The in-store pharmacy will also provide free diabetes screenings, immunizations and other health-related giveaways on the day of the event.
