Collinsville man throws cocaine out of window during 100 MPH chase

DAVIDSON COUNTY, NC – A Collinsville man was arrested on drug trafficking charges after a high-speed chase in North Carolina.

On February 14, Davidson County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop a 2005 Chrysler 300 registered out of Virginia. The Chrysler was following too close on Interstate 85 North in Linwood, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said.

The driver of the vehicle fled from deputies leading them on a vehicle pursuit through Davidson County. During the pursuit the driver threw out more than 28 grams of cocaine, the sheriff’s office stated in a release.

The pursuit continued onto US Highway 52 North as the vehicle reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour and traveled about 30 miles. Deputies discontinued the pursuit as it traveled into Winston-Salem, NC.

Upon further investigation, deputies identified the driver of the vehicle as Parish Deon Hairston Jr., 31, of Lackey Drive in Collinsville. The vehicle was registered to Hairston, the sheriff's office said.

Davidson County deputies issued warrants for:

  • trafficking cocaine by possession

  • trafficking cocaine by transportation

  • felony flee to elude arrest with motor vehicle

  • littering

  • speeding

  • following too close

On February 27, Hairston was extradited back to North Carolina where he was issued a $2,000,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Lexington District Court on March 28 at 9 AM.
