Chief Medical Examiner says Hinchee death was accidental

HENRY COUNTY – UPDATE: 5/29/18

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Martinsville Police Department investigated the death of Larry Dalton Hinchee, 54, of 310 Wren Ct., Martinsville, Virginia. Through the course of the investigation it was discovered that Mr. Hinchee left his home to exercise in the early morning hours of March 24, 2018 and never returned.

            On March 31, 2018 search teams discovered Hinchee’s remains off the shoulder of the road in the 450 block of Nautica Way in Henry County. Hinchee had fallen down an embankment. The location of the accident is approximately 1.5 miles from his home.

            An autopsy was performed in Roanoke, Virginia at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia. The cause of death has been determined to be a result of hypothermia with the manner of death being an accident.
