MARTINSVILLE – 86 local children went Christmas shopping with police officers Saturday morning. As part of the annual Santa, Cops and Kids program, children are allowed to spend $100 on gifts at the Martinsville Walmart. This year, the Fraternal Order of Police, Patrick Henry Lodge 73, doubled the number of children with a $7,500 grant from the Harvest Youth Board. Walmart donated $2,500.

Law enforcement officers with the Martinsville Sheriff's Office, Martinsville Police Department and Henry County Sheriff's Office participated.
