FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – A 64-year-old man died in the hospital following a head-on crash.

The crash occurred Saturday at 6:21 a.m. on Franklin Street near Henry Road in Franklin County.

Virginia State Police say a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer was going west on Franklin Street when it crossed the center line and struck a 2014 Ford F-150 head-on.

64-year-old Bruce Benjamin Angell, of Ferrum, was the driver of the Chevrolet and police say he was not wearing his seatbelt.

Angell was transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he later died from injuries received in the accident.

The Ford was driven by 64-year-old Harden James Crum, also of Ferrum, who was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured, according to police.

The incident remains under investigation.
